I was perusing the stacks of the children's library at Brooklyn Public Library last week and found a great book about how global warming is affecting animal life in various biomes around the world. I highly recommend checking out A Warmer World: From Polar Bears to Butterflies, How Climate Change Affects Wildlife, by Caroline Arnold with beautiful pastel illustrations by Jamie Hogan. The text is clear and simple, focusing on one animal (or pair of related animals) on each spread. I would recommend it for second- or third-grade readers.
A preview of the book is available as a trailer on YouTube:
